Supporting NGTs during the Brussels 20k

On Sunday 28th May 2023, the Brussels 20k race took place with over 33,000 runner and 5,000 walkers. Such an event is not only an opportunity to train and stay/get fit, but it is also a great opportunity to raise awareness about topics that one holds dear.

During this event, several runners and attendees showed their support for NGTs by wearing the slogan #GiveCRISPRaChance. In light of the long-awaited legislative proposal from the EU Commission, it is more important than ever to show our support for an enabling legislative framework that should allow European society to benefit from the fruit of its public research.

It is also more important than ever to make sure that we engage with the general public and demystify Plant Science and Plant Breeding so that citizens and consumers can make informed choices about whether they support or not plant breeding innovation and better understand the potential impacts of either choice.
