Press Release – ETPs Call for Strategic Recognition of Agriculture and Food in EU Competitiveness Policy

Five European Technology Platforms (ETPs) including Plants for the Future and 9 agri‑food stakeholders have issued a joint statement urging the European Parliament and the Council to recognise agriculture and food systems as strategic sectors within the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) and Horizon Europe.

The statement highlights the sector’s importance for Europe’s competitiveness, resilience and food security, and warns against the risk of underrepresentation in emerging competitiveness instruments.
