Press Release – Agri Food Value Chain Calls for Adoption of EU NGT Regulation

European agri‑food value chain partners, including Plants for the Future, have issued a joint statement urging Members of the European Parliament to support the adoption of the EU Regulation on plants produced by certain new genomic techniques (NGTs), in line with the trilogue compromise agreed in December 2025 and without further amendments.

The statement highlights the importance of a clear and workable EU framework for NGT plants to strengthen the competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of Europe’s agricultural and food systems, while ensuring alignment with international developments.
