Mission and vision of Plant ETP

Plants for the Future ETP (Plant ETP) is a multi-stakeholder platform representing the plant sector from fundamental research to crop production and distribution, and:

  • Co- developing a vision for the future of agri-food systems
  • Fostering a globally competitive European plant research landscape and value chain-wide strategies for research & innovation
  • Interfacing with EU institutions and promoting science-based policymaking
  • Increasing the visibility and impact of plant sciences

Your role

Climate change and the EU Green Deal call for urgent changes in our agri-food systems. Plant ETP contributes as an agile interface between science and policy. The intern’s activities will mainly focus on communication and outreach around topics that can make a difference. This includes impacts from plant sciences and breeding techniques, up to agri-food production systems. The intern will work side-by-side with the Executive Manager and support her in the daily management of the platform, and will be closely involved in the Horizon Europe Project called GeneBEcon.

Desired profile

  • A background in communication (e.g., social media, website management, event planning) or (biological) science with a strong interest in the other; knowledge of EU policy, relating to agri-food systems, would be an advantage
  • Fluency in English (written and oral); knowledge of French or Dutch would be an advantage
  • Demonstrate excellent drafting and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and capacity to juggle several topics and activities at the same time
