Plant ETP General Assembly 2026
The Plants for the Future stakeholder community gathered in Ghent for the annual General Assembly, bringing together representatives from academia, industry, farmer organisations, and the broader plant innovation ecosystem.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on ongoing activities, discuss future priorities, and exchange perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing plant innovation and breeding in Europe.
A key milestone of this year’s General Assembly was the election of a new Board of Directors. We are also pleased to announce that the newly elected Chair comes from our academic stakeholder community, highlighting the strong engagement of the research sector within Plant ETP.
Members also had the opportunity to connect, share expertise, and strengthen collaborations across the network. The discussions throughout the day demonstrated the value of bringing together diverse stakeholders to help shape the future of sustainable and innovative agriculture.
We were delighted to welcome Inari and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano as new members of the Plant ETP community. We look forward to working together to advance innovation and sustainability across the agri-food sector.
The General Assembly was followed by a networking dinner in Ghent, providing further opportunities for members and guests to exchange ideas and strengthen partnerships.
A sincere thank you to BASF for generously hosting the event and to all participants for their engagement and valuable contributions. We look forward to continuing these discussions and building on the momentum generated during the meeting.
We are already looking forward to seeing our community again next year! 🌱🤝
