Plant ETP Brokerage Event
Under the theme “Connect. Collaborate. Innovate.”, Plant ETP recently organised a brokerage event at the VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology in Ghent, bringing together stakeholders from academia, industry, farmer organisations, and the next generation of plant scientists.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore new collaboration opportunities, and strengthen connections across the European plant innovation ecosystem. Through research project presentations, flash talks by VIB researchers, industry perspectives on career pathways, networking and poster sessions, participants gained insights into cutting-edge plant biotechnology research, ongoing innovation activities, and career opportunities within the agrifood sector. Together, these activities highlighted the importance of collaboration across academia, industry, and the farming community in driving innovation in the plant sector.
A particular highlight was the strong participation of students, who engaged directly with researchers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders. These interactions helped foster new connections while showcasing the diverse career paths available within the plant and agrifood sectors.
The programme concluded with a guided tour of VIB’s research facilities, offering participants a closer look at the institute’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and scientific activities.
Plant ETP would like to thank VIB for hosting the event and all participants for their contributions to the engaging discussions. Events like these demonstrate the importance of collaboration in addressing future agricultural challenges and driving innovation across the plant sector.
